Originally known as Slade Transfer, owner Jefferson Chesnut Slade started hauling baggage and people from the Ogden train depot to their homes in the Ogden, Utah area.  As time progressed, Jefferson formed a unique relationship and handled the transportation of the backdrops, props and equipment used in the theater productions held at the Egyptian Theater.  In 1901 the Slade family welcomed their first son Edward.  Later Jefferson Jr. joined the family.   When Edward was ten years old, his responsibilities included the care of the horses used to pull the delivery wagons.  Originally the business was located on Capital Avenue, and then moved to 25^th Street, then on Kiesel Avenue, then to 22^nd Street.

In the late 1930’s Edward and Jefferson Jr. split the business.  Jefferson Jr. specialized in the drayage and cartage.  Edward formed E. H. Slade Moving & Storage and continued in the moving of personal possessions and items needing specialized handling.  Edward located on Stephens Avenue and 31^st Street.  In the early 50’s Edward became affiliated with North American Van Lines of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  This afforded opportunities to provide nationwide service to his customers. 

In 1975 E. H. Slade Moving & Storage was acquired by Sugar House Moving & Storage and the company’s national affiliation was changed to Bekins Van Lines, of Hillside, Illinois.

In 1997, to better serve our customer’s base, E. H. Slade Moving & Storage was divided in to two divisions. E.H. Slade Moving & Storage was to cover all household moving and Slade Logistics was to handle home deliveries, small ships, trade show and truck loads. The company relocated from the property located on Wall and Stephens Avenue to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Today, Slade Logistics has authority to operate in 48 states, handles specialized transportation for hundreds of customers, maintains a warehouse certified for government and military storage of personal possessions and provides the same personalized service in which the business was founded on. In addition to the personalized services for household moves, Slade Logistics handles hundreds of shipments destined for home deliveries each year. Slades Logistics specializes in the assembly and installation of many lines of home and office products not to mention the movement of a single item or truckloads within the city or coast to coast.
